The Bucketlist Forge

The Old Forge in the Mühlviertel region will be awakened from its slumber after more than half a century and the fire will be rekindled. From autumn 2025, forging and work will take place here again - in two senses:

  • Blacksmithing as a craft : pans, knives or horseshoes as a symbol of luck

  • Blacksmithing with a Mouth : Strategies and Ideas for Companies and People

the motivation behind the Bucketlist Forge

Thomas Fleischanderl is the bucket list forge. He is co-founder of the renowned online agency eMAGNETIX and has 15 years of experience as a managing director. In the past, he has also contributed his knowledge as a lecturer and advisor at the university of applied sciences and led international business and adventure trips. Both professionally and privately, he has been bundling his diverse experiences and networks for years and is always on the lookout for new impulses and challenges outside the mainstream. Among other things, he has set a world record and qualified for a world championship. His passion for extraordinary experiences is also reflected in his projects, such as the bucket list card game, adventure trips or the bucket list forge. He learns from some of the world's best coaches and the "University of Life" - and passes on his experiences in inspiring lectures and walking talks.

What is the motivation behind it?

already six generations

his ancestors were blacksmiths - and now also Thomas Fleischanderl , the bucket list blacksmith.

His grandfather was the second to last blacksmith. At some point he hung the tools on the wall, hugged his six children one last time, went to the hospital - and unfortunately never came home. From that point on, the fire in the forge died out.

treasury

of memories and old tools

His grandmother, the "blacksmith", had a special place in Thomas' heart - both as a young boy and later. There are many beautiful and funny memories of his mother's childhood home.

His uncle had even learned to be a blacksmith, but had not activated the forge. And now the Old Forge had been unused for more than half a century - with all the many treasures of this ancient craft.

A look into the past

and the unconscious connection to the blacksmith's craft

Thomas Fleischanderl has unconsciously carried this connection within himself for a long time. His experiential lecture was entitled “ Light the fire within you! ”, at which time the bucket list smith had not even existed. He has been “ burning ” for one thing his whole life and has the fire within him . He always goes  to the blacksmith and not to the blacksmith’s apprentice ”.

Then he found an old horseshoe from the blacksmith’s shop – and the Bucketlist Blacksmith was born ( you can find the whole story here ).

with care

the old walls are to be renovated

With the utmost respect for the blacksmith's craft, which has existed for about 5,000 years, the Bucketlist blacksmith has set himself the goal of renovating his grandfather's old forge and bringing it back to life.

He wants to keep as much of it as possible in its original state, with the addition of modern amenities. He also wants to do as much as possible himself and lend a hand.

The visualization shows roughly what it should look like – the stone style remains original, of course.

Crafts and Mouth

Blacksmithing as a craft : Thomas Fleischanderl is learning the blacksmith's craft and will also invite master blacksmiths to the fire in the forge - for open and private workshops.

Forging with a tongue : At the same time, he will take the forge into a new era by combining it with forging strategies for companies and forging a work-life romance for people .

In the Bucketlist Forge, tradition and innovation come together to "light the fire" both physically and symbolically.

Insights into the Alte Schmiede

The forge is embedded in a beautiful landscape here in the Mühlviertel, but still needs some love...

Outlook on the future Bucketlist Forge - from autumn 2025

After many rounds of discussions with the authorities, official permission has finally been granted to breathe new life into the forge. If everything goes according to plan, these visualizations will become reality by the end of 2025. The bucket list blacksmith wants to do as much as possible himself - helpers are welcome, gloves are available ;-)

From 2025, new life will be breathed into the old forge of the Bucketlist blacksmith's grandfather. This special environment is the ideal place to forge strategies and ideas for people and companies - based on the Bucketlist method. In the evening, luck is symbolically forged by creating a horseshoe together around the fire. Archaic and yet forward-looking...
